After purchasing a wooden handle apple corer at Tuesday Morning for $6 and having it break after only coring 3 apples, I decided to go a little more heavy duty. This works great! The curved handle makes coring anything easy; you don't have to put down as much pressure as with other corers. I use it primarily for potatoes, which I stuff with a meat mixture for an Arabic dish. Works for coring anything! The only thing to be careful of is the diameter of the object you are coring, as this corer is about 1 inch diameter, so for potatoes, if they aren't wide enough, its possible to go through the sides and bottom, which for the dish I was making it's the way to do it. Just be careful to line up so the corer doesn't poke through the edge. As far as the cutting and coring, its fantastic. Push in, Turn one full turn and pull out. It grabs the core out with so much suction, it sounds like a wine cork coming out of a bottle. The inside area where the core comes out is perfectly cylindrical, with no left over pieces inside to fork out. Be very careful of any wooden handled corer, as the handle will come off after you turn it inside whatever you are coring. Also comes with a warranty, I think 5 years.
