I bought my Cuisipro rolling pin a couple of years ago, and use it regularly to make pastry, scones, shortbread etc. Have never had any problems with water leaking. The barrel stays very cool, and the added weight from the water helps when rolling out heavier mixtures. Would recommend it (and am getting one for my mother, who borrowed mine, and wanted to keep it)!
